Adventures: Memories from Europe, 2024
It took me nearly 40 years to visit Europe, and I’ll definitely be back.
Rachel and I disappeared to Europe in the dog days of summer last year, and told almost no one. We wanted to be off the grid for a while, as difficult as that sounds with the modern world getting in the way. We tied the knot in 2024, and celebrated by going to places we only ever dreamed of. Here are some of the best photos from our trip, done by land, air, and sea:
All in all, we visited nine different countries, experienced ocean, lakes, mountains, and ancient cities, and tasted many amazing cuisines along the way. Barcelona felt the least unique and most absorbed into multicultural cosmopolitan living, and they hate tourists there, too. Austria, Germany, and Italy were amazing highlights, as were a few short stints in Monaco and historic Malta, which survived a Turkish siege in 1565 in one of history’s great victory stories.
On my next trip to Europe, I’d like to venture further east and see eastern Austria, where the Keshel family hails from, as well as several very important historic sites that are now at risk thanks to governments that wish to erase national identity. I have always felt it is important to see the nations while they still reflect their own heritages.
Seth Keshel, MBA, is a former Army Captain of Military Intelligence and Afghanistan veteran. He is intent on living life as fully as possible, taking adventures, and finding new ways to appreciate the road less traveled in pursuit of Freedom.
This is a wonderful set of photos. Peaceful and cheerful and full of love which is a relief after all the vitriol in my morning email, newsletters, podcasts et c. Thank you.
Lovely! Thanks for posting.
